Hello! My name is Katie Dawn! I have been making art since I was 5 years old!

I started out by drawing anything my mom called out to me in the backseat on my magnetic sketchpad! Thankful always for my parents and siblings who encouraged and challenged me to create!

I painted my first mural, an animal theme, for my little siblings’ room when I was 11 or 12. I remember a monkey and a giraffe. I wish I still had pictures of this painting!

I started helping to paint set pieces for the theatre classes that I attended in high school and have worked for them painting sets ever since! Shout out Act Too Players for helping this girl to paint large scale!

I attended Beauty School out of high school and winded up painting a mural for my favorite teacher in our class room in the last week of classes. It was a collage of bright flowers, hair tools, and an eye with a color wheel. The school loved it and hired me for a year to paint a themed mural for each of their classes in their industrial building. I was thrilled to bring purple AC units and rainbow skylines behind construction sites to life down the halls of the welding, HVAC, and automotive class rooms! This was the start of mural work for me!
